Lenovo Ideapad S12, first Netbook with Nvidia Ion

Netbooks have been generating a storm, blending portability with minimum functionality like surfing, emailing and basic document management, maybe watching movies too.

With the Lenovo Ideapad S12, Nvidia now introduces their Ion platform targeted at Netbooks to bring in a new dimension - GAMING! This article has a video that showcases running Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (albeit with toned down settings), as well the HD movie viewing experience.

“NVIDIA Ion graphics help deliver the same features found in premium PCs at a lower price points and new form factors,” says Rene Haas, general manager, notebook GPUs for Nvidia in a statement. “With enhanced graphics, the Lenovo IdeaPad S12 netbook is perfect for watching movies, playing popular games like Spore, flipping through vacation pictures or enhancing family videos.”
