Solar Roads??

This is still prototype technology but the idea is crazily impressive. One of this things in building a city (learnt from Sim City), is the infrastructure, aka transportation networks. Having these same roads become solar panels for entire cities.. as Engadget says..

if these were used on the entire US Interstate system, we could pretty much forget about using non-renewable energy sources to power our homes and businesses.
