According to this report from Life Hacker via PC World, benchmark performance tests on several setups reveal that Windows 7 OS is only marginally faster than Vista. However, many users have commented that the improvements for Windows 7 come in terms of UI, stability and general performance improvements than just speed.
I'm still NOT a Microsoft Windows fan (whatever version), and prefer to let you decide for yourselves.
