According to Phandroid, the speed of the Snapdragon's processor, though capable of 1ghz, has been made official to be at 768mhz. Engadget has speculated this could be perhaps cos of battery concerns. However, this is a usual practice, with the G1 being clocked at 528mhz, but officially spec'd at 384mhz.
