I've always called Apple a marketing phenomenon and it is this mass-media inspired "hysteria" regarding their iconic products that drives millions of people who would have no connection to the Mac and its OS, apart from the undisputed iPod, to have this unexplained desire to own an Apple iPhone, and every other iteration of it, despite its many flaws.
