So Google has announced their new Google Chrome OS, to rival Microsoft's OS reign. Its a big HMMM for me at this point as I've always been suspicious of the openness of Google Chrome and their ad-revenue business. However, if the Google OS can support Windows-based games, has video codecs that don't give problems when watching movies, and is compatible with all my netbook peripherals out of the box (or with minimal tweaking), then I'll be more than happy to run it alongside my Linux distros over a Microsoft OS any day.
I'm going to wait this out and come the 2nd half of 2010, when they expect a workable release, we'll have more information and perhaps an alpha/beta version in order to have a better opinion on this.
For the official announcement, read it at Google blog.
