What a letdown. Of all the actors they could have brought in to play one of the most patriotic of American superheroes in Marvel history, they pick this goofy/hunky actor. Evans has also been cast in at least 4 comic-movies including Johnny Storm/The Human Torch from Fantastic Four (another Marvel character), a superpowered boyfriend in the upcoming Scott Pilgrim movie, and also Jake Jensen from DC/Vertigo's upcoming The Losers movie. Talk about schizophrenic.
I always envisioned Capt to be a man of gravitas, tending to be serious and compassionate, and a little more bulky, being a super-serumed soldier from the 40s. I'd demand a recast if I could. Really. And I'm not even American. =P Unless he's such a great actor that he can pull off all the above (and I haven't seen it in any of his previous roles).
