Marvel's Taking Over The World!

Maybe you've read Marvel comics before, maybe you're a DC fan. Maybe you're not any of these. But in the Marvel universe, heroes and villains cross-over into each others' domains all the time. Like when Spiderman joined the New Avengers? That may eventually happen in the movies too.

First there was Spiderman, then came the Hulk. Iron Man came, and the sequel's in production now. Thor and Captain America are next. You're wondering where all this could lead to? Well.. come 2011/12, the Avengers movie will be released! Yes! Nick Fury, Capt America, Iron Man and all his superheroic comrades will unite in one movie to save the day together on the big screen!

Too much Marvel you say? That is a fear, but if Marvel stops making half-masted movies like Wolverine Origins (which incidentally raked in US$ 90 million in the 1st weekend despite its many plotholes and inconsistencies with the comics), we'll probably see Marvel comics icons taking over the big screen!

Stars like Ian McKellen, Samuel L Jackson, Robert Downey Jr have already been roped in. Posterboy Hugh Jackman, comedian Kelsey Grammer, brooding actor Edward Norton, Trekkie Patrick Stewart are in the fold. Names being bandied around to join the Marvel family of actors include Matthew McConaughey and Scarlett Johansson. And we still don't know who's going to play Thor!

So if you're a comic fan, things are looking good for you. If you aren't, maybe its time you picked up a new marvel graphic novel; I do suggest the ones written by Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Millar. Relish the awesome artwork. And then, watch as it comes to life on the big screen. In theatres near you soon.
