When to use Rechargeable Batteries

Len Penzo contributed an article about rechargeable batteries and when best to use them. It was suggested that the highest cost-efficiency actually comes from using rechargeables with high-use devices like game controllers (exactly this purpose if you're a guy and interested in rechargeables), but not for low-drain devices like alarm clocks.

Here's the quick summary:
Rechargeable batteries are great for moderate to high use devices that drain batteries quickly, but they are not cost effective for low current-draw and/or low-use devices - and it is the low current-draw devices that tend to make up the great majority of battery-driven products in the typical home.
